From North America, the most direct way is through San Juan in Puerto Rico. American Airlines have a modern terminal there with connecting flights to Beef Island, Tortola through their American Eagle service. This is definitely the recommended route. However recently (winter 99) we have noticed AA flights to be limited and expensive, so it might be worth looking at other carriers.

There are direct flights from the US mainland to St. Thomas. A taxi from the airport will take you to the ferry dock in downtown Charlotte Amalie. Reservations are not necessary. Ferries run 4 or 5 times daily and the cost is $40 round trip. Smith Ferries also offer a sea plane service to Tortola twice daily. It's quick, exciting and about $40 each way.

If you are unable to connect with American Eagle then we suggest trying LIAT or Air Sunshine.

Alternatively, if you would like a convenient VIP service you might like to try FLY BVI. Based at the BVI's Beef Island airport they offer air-charter pickups in one of their small fleet of light aircraft. They are comparably priced for groups of over 4 passengers and offer a personal service and the convenience of working to your schedule.

From Europe, several airlines offer direct flights to Puerto Rico, Antigua or St. Martin with onward connections through Puerto Rico to Tortola. This year (1999) we have seen the introduction of a charter flight most Wednesdays from Gatwick London direct to St Thomas with a ferry connection to Tortola. The flight is very convenient, very reasonably priced (especially for last minute bookings) and will hopefully continue through to the next millenium. Please contact us for more info.

If we have your arrival time, we will pass your name to Dave Winters, a local taxi driver who has been looking after our guests for many years. He will make himself known to you as you exit customs. The ride to Nanny Cay is approximately 20 minutes from the ferry dock and 35 minutes from the airport. If you arrive unannounced, don't be concerned. Just mention to any taxi driver "Endless Summer II" at Nanny Cay Marina. They all know who and where we are! The taxi fare is not included in your rate and you should pay your driver directly. Please note you do need a taxi with 4WD to negotiate the drive at Summer Heights.
